Elvington Under Fives is a preschool for 2 to 5-year-olds and operates from a purpose built building in the Elvington C of E school grounds. We are open from 8am – 3pm, Monday to Thursday and Friday Morning 8am - 12.30pm during term time and we charge £4.25 per hour.
The children bring a pack up for lunch but we provide breakfast and snacks throughout the day. The children can enjoy a variety of cereals for breakfast and morning snacks include toast and fruit, afternoon snack may be crackers, rice cakes, humus, cucumber, cheese, yogurts and well as fresh milk to drink.
The children enjoy the session at preschool as they have a large choice of activities to play with throughout the day as well as planned activities and topics.
Each child has a key person who will take particular interest in their progress and keep their Learning Journal updated and work with the children if we feel they may need a bit of extra help in particular areas. We also work together with the parents to make sure the children are continuing to develop in their educational and personal needs. The journal will be given to the parents when
the child leaves us to move over on to school.
We are also closely connected to the Elvington After School Club which runs every term time day between 3pm and 6pm. Some of the staff from our preschool also help at the After School Club so the children from our setting are used to familiar members of staff.
The Holiday Club opens every holiday Monday to Friday 8am. till 6pm. This means your child can have complete wrap round care throughout the year. The Afterschool Club is situated in the Sport Club next to the doctors surgery in Elvington.
We also have a parent and child group in the Village Hall which meet on Wednesday & Thursday morning between 9.45am and 11.15am. Come and join us with your little one for friendly fun and games, songs, crafts and the chance to meet new friends.
Sessions cost £2.50 for parent and child, with additional children an extra 50p. Tea, coffee, toast and biscuits are provided, with a snack and juice for children.
